Our Philosophy

By definition, Melanin means, pigments that give hair, skin, and eyes, their color. No matter what obstacles one may face being their most natural, we desire for all to experience the same revelation that allowed us to embrace our natural beauty: “God makes no mistakes with his creation”. No matter how light or dark the skin or eyes, no matter kinky or curly the hair; we want to celebrate that fact that – we all have Melanin.

KEY INGREDIENTS

Shea Butter: The Skin's Best Friend.

For the thirstiest of skin, shea butter packs a powerful punch! The concentration of natural vitamins and fatty acids in shea butter makes it incredibly nourishing and moisturizing, preventing dryness, and–over time–resulting in softened and strengthened skin.

Mango Butter: Sweet Treat of Nutrients.

The deliciously sweet fruit of the mango is full of moisture! When applied to the skin, mango butter has the ability to protect it from sunburn as well as sooth sunburned skin. Rich in many nutrients and antioxidants, such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C and with it’s high contents of linoleic and oleic acid content, mango butter is very good at maintaining the skin’s elasticity and flexibility. It also has vitamin C that boosts collagen, keeping your skin looking smooth, soft, and youthful.

Coconut Oil: Creamy & Cleansing.

Coconut oil contains three fatty acids —capric, caprylic and lauricacid — that possess both disinfectant and antimicrobial properties, helping to protect against microbial infections. When applied on the skin, they keep it smooth to the touch. Due to the presence of these fats, coconut oil also retains the moisture content of the skin, as the fats eliminate moisture loss through the pores on skin.

Jojoba Oil: The Skin's Superfood.

Jojoba not only moisturizes skin, but it is also is absorbed readily. Jojoba oil contains nutrients like vitamin E and B, as well as minerals like chromium, copper, and zinc, which all nourish and protect skin from environmental stressors. Studies have documented that jojoba improves the feel of skin, and provides a substantial long-acting, 24-hour skin hydration effect.
